watercolors. part of a concentration from last year.
butterflies interacting with and within the human body.
humans are so complex and strong and to contrast with that is the butterflies that are simple, small and fragile.
my pictures can have different meanings, find one for yourself and let me know if you want :)

Just curious, as this one is very different from the others in the series: What is happening in the picture, and why is the title "devious"? It looks like either the person has some sort of wound (my guess, by the way the opening is, is that its a self0inflicted suicide attempt), or has some sort of drug reference (though why someone would shoot up by their wrist is beyond me). Is the butterfly trying to kill the person? Is it acting as a poison or for m of death? I would appreciate your insight on this.
This is a very powerful, striking image. The colors seem almost toxic in their vibrance and saturation. Beautiful!

this was the second one in the series i believe. i was still experimenting with ideas. i also didn't have most of the names for these pictures until i started to submit them here. i thought devious because normally, butterflies are harmless (trusting?) and you can see the hand reaching for one, like it will allow it to land on it, while the other is burrowing into the wrist unwelcomed.
the original idea was to have the butterfly coming out of the wrist (like something was being released) but visually i didn't think that would be as strong as a still picture. (a lot of times my ideas aren't one image, its a whole motion of things, so i have to choose a point to stop and create and picture for it) i didn't really intend it to be related to suicide, drugs, or death. Its just some relationship between the human and the butterfly. Honestly i like the hear what people see in my works, because it usually isn't what i picture.
I like leaving it up to people own thoughts. I like to give people something to think about even if its controversial.
thanks agian. i hope that helped you understand, at least what i was thinking. :)

I saw this pic on thumbshare, and stumbled back upon it. Random (insert spooky music here). I absolutely love this image, I love the brillant blood red, and your use of that light blue to highlight and draw attention to the wound. And just in general. Damn you sleep deprevation, sorry good artist no deeply insightful comment today. Best I can say is, rock on.

the description that twosilverstars gave your piece was well said. Congrats on the DD. I liked the purple one that had the butterfly coming out of the eye better, but this is still awesome!
